Medical Director, North Carolina Offices
Dr. LaMond is a nutrition, hormone and prevention expert. Drawing from his foundation and board certification in Family Medicine, he has created the core medical principles behind the blue sky concept of total patient care. He is an active member of the American Society of Bariatric Physicians, American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery and American Academy of Family Physicians.
Alyson Miletich, MD
Alyson Miletich is a medical doctor, board certified Obstetrician-Gynecologist, Reiki master, and certified epigenetic coach with the belief that our potential for health and well-being is not limited to the absence of disease. She understands that there are many paths to vibrant health and that it is possible for all of us. Optimization of nutrition, sleep and circadian rhythms, hormones, detoxification, and mind/body/spirit balance is essential to this pursuit, and the ability to leverage epigenetics within these areas is a powerful tool.
Dr Miletich obtained a Bachelor of Science Degree at The University of South Carolina where she graduated Magna Cum Laude. She then took a break from school and taught in a medically supervised weight loss program as a health coach and taught Yoga. From here, she entered graduate school at Clemson University and studied nutrition. This was followed by medical school at the Medical University of South Carolina and then residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Mountain Area Health Education Center in Asheville. After many years of traditional Ob-Gyn practice, she trained in Integrative Medicine at The Sajune Institute for Restorative and Regenerative Medicine in Florida. In addition, she obtained certification as an Epigenetic Coach through Apeiron Academy.
In her free time, she loves to be in nature, spending time with her husband and 2 boys. She loves to travel and discover new things, including discoveries that aid in achieving and maintaining health and vitality.
Brady Bullock, PA-C
- Graduate of the University of Virginia, Charlottesville in 2003
- Masters from James Madison University
- Previously worked for Mission Occupational
- Medicine in Asheville, NC, and Harrisonburg Community Health Center in Harrisonburg, VA, treating patients of all ages
- Moved to Asheville, NC in 2012 with his wife Annara and their four kids
- Hopes to build relationships with his patients and help them reach their health goals.
Vanessa Mugica, FNP-C
Vanessa Mugica is a Board Certified Family Nurse Practitioner. She has over 14 years of experience in a multitude of settings and roles within the nursing profession. It has been her passion to practice family medicine since the beginning of her academic career. She has worked in multiple medical Specialties to obtain experience treating patients within all ages of the lifespan including; NICU, pediatrics, critical care, emergency medicine/ urgent care, wound care, geriatrics, surgery, family practice and internal medicine. Vanessa is a certified perioperative NP who has spent eight years providing excellent surgical care and has assisted in all surgical specialties in the operating room making her procedural skills exceptional.
She Is passionate about providing excellent quality, culturally congruent evidence-based care to all members of our community. Vanessa has a special interest in preventative medicine and women’s health and is elated to be a part of the team.
Ashley Kaake, FNP, AGNP
Ashley Kaake holds board certifications as both a Family Nurse Practitioner and Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner. She is a graduate of Armstrong Atlantic State University and South University in Savannah, GA. She has over 10 years of professional nursing experience in multiple settings. She is extremely passionate about preventative medicine and enjoys educating her patients on ways to improve their overall health and quality of life. She has worked in acute care, endocrinology, bariatric, and primary care settings. She is originally from British Columbia, Canada and it was this love of the mountains that lured her to Western North Carolina. When she is not at work she can most likely be found out hiking, biking, or camping with her family and fur-babies in tow. She is thrilled to join the Blue Sky team and help you find the path to the best version of yourself.
Karla Colburn, FNP
Karla Colburn, FNP prioritizes wellness and primary prevention as well as managing chronic conditions for her patients. She has 11 years of experience in medicine, starting out in inpatient psychiatry as a nursing assistant, transitioning to intensive cardiac care and interventional radiology as a registered nurse, and working in primary care and urgent care as a nurse practitioner for the last 5 years. A transplant to WNC from the PNW, she was trained at Seattle University in her undergraduate and Gonzaga University for her Master’s in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner focus. When not in the clinic, you can find her on her porch enjoying the mountain views with a glass of wine and a cat on her lap, or out on the trails running or hiking with her border collie.
Kyle Kenyon, PA
After receiving his bachelor’s degree in biology from the University of Colorado , Kyle Kenyon’s first career in nonprofit management involved serving with the I Have A Dream Foundation, Habitat for Humanity, and as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Romania.
Kyle graduated from Emory University’s Physician Assistant program in 2014, and then worked at a walk-in clinic in Forest City, NC before joining Blue Sky MD. He is committed to developing long-term trusting relationships with his patients.
Away from the clinic, Kyle enjoys spending time with family, reading, travelling, hiking, biking, and enjoying the outdoors.
Kathy Motes, MSN, ARNP, FNP-C
Graduated from Clemson University with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree in 1987. Worked as a registered nurse in a variety of practice settings including family medicine, neurology, trauma, critical care, addictionology, pain management, and psychiatry. Obtained graduate degree from Purdue University and became a board-certified family nurse practitioner. I utilize a customized integrative approach gathering the best of all methods of medicine and tailor to an individual personal needs. I use trigger point injections as well as joint injections including stem cell injections as part of regenerative medicine. I also believe in the healing powers of nutrition including nutritional supplements. I believe that listening is just as important as talking and providing compassionate care to all.
I spend my spare time with my children and family enjoying the great outdoors here in the western NC mountains.
